Among the South Zone Qualifiers for Santhosh Trophy , Kerala Football Team qualified as second team. For the final match for qualifying from the zone Kerala Football Team beat Karnataka Football Team in a magnificent game held at Chennai.
Upto the 90 minutes of game ,the score was 1-2 , when fourth official held up the board specifying added extra time. It became 3-2 score in favour of Kerala Football Team before the Final whistle.
Tamilnadu is the topper in South-Zone qualifiers who beated Andhra Pradesh football Team by 4-0 margin in another spectacular Game.
It was inconsolable situation for Karnataka Team when Kerala Strikers N Johnson and Shibinlal found their target in the extra time. Kerala are five time Santhosh Trophy Champions . this win in the qualifiers Kerala Football Team are into main fixtures of 68th Santhosh Trophy Football Tournament.
The tournament fixtures are adjusted with respect to Club football championship Federation Cup.
